The Forth and
District Initiative Group which was started up as a result of the
Millennium Celebrations have done a great deal to enhance the village
and must be congratulated on making there projects so successful.

The Forth and District Initiative Group are being allowed unused ground at the primary school
to develop a horticultural unit mainly consisting of polytunnels.
the education service will be allowed use of the unit so that the school children can learn from it.

In August 2010 the latest of the groups projects was opened.
The Trim Track situated in the Recreation park near the manse road entrance, comprises of various outdoor exercise equipment for adults.
13 people can use them at any one time.

The White
House Playpark

The White House
Playpark is one of the most succesful project by the Forth and District
Initiative Group, who received funding from various groups to open
this £80,000 playpark.
It contains a range of equipment to suit children of all ages, including
toddlers and teenagers.
In June 2009 The group will receive £18.920 towards a trim track trail project.
This is the third phase of the planned improvements works for the recreation area of the village.
Equipment will be installed which offer various physical activities inc hanging bars, weight lifting,and balance exercises,
paths will also be upgraded in and around the proposed site to improve access.

After many years Forth
now has its own Christmas Lights.
On 24th November 2002 these
lights were first switched on. The money had been raised by collections
in the Forth and surrounding Villages.
Over £11,000 was raised in total , this purchased the lights
and will keep them maintained for a good number of years.

The Forth festive
lights were switched on this year by the Mr & Mrs George Alexander former owners of a Local Garage.
They switched the lights on this year on Sunday November 20th 2011.
The Forth and District Initative group organise this project to
light up the village . Also there was the opportunity to sponsor a light
on the Christmas tree and the money raised went to the St Andrews
Hospice

They have now planted over
5000 daffodil bulbs over much of the village and this should be a
good display in springtime. Also flower tubs have been placed on the
Main Street.
In 2008 they were also awarded a Neighbourhood Award from the Beautiful Scotland Group.

The Group succeeded
in their fight for pedestrian crossings for the Main Street.

They were also
are involved with getting a fair deal on the Blacklaw
Windfarm
