Main Street Regeneration.

Forth Main Street is to be modernised, with work starting in August 2008.
The first phase will be from Climpy road to the Kirkgreen junction.

Ironworks Map

The Foresty Commission have produced a large map of one of Scotland's first ironworks at Wilsontown.
Copies can be purchased from their offices at Braidwood House.
A project to preserve the historic value of Wilsontown Ironworks commenced in 2008. In 1970 the area was planted with trees. Over 77 bell pits are in the area and the project is to remove the trees by helicopter to prevent damage to the bell pits. This work is part of the Wilsontown Ironworks Heritage carried out by the Forestry Commission.

New Homes at Manse Road.

Situated on the edge of the village, Manse Court will consist of just six, two and three bedroom homes by Castlebrae Developments. Most of the properties will enjoy south facing gardens with fantastic views over the open countryside.

Work will begin on site in July with entry dates available from early 2008. The properties have just been released for sale and prices are fixed until entry. Porteous.
The first words many outsiders to the village utter when Forth is mentioned is "Oh. That's where Porteous Pies come from!"
Sadly, due to retirement the Baker closed its doors for the last time in 2004.After a century of producing bakery including, of course, that now semi-legendary Pie.

Porteous Place.
A select development of four detached homes and six spacious apartments is now open, this was build on the site where Porteous the Baker shop stood, and changes the entrance to the village skyline.

M.B.E. Rewarded to Forth Girl.

Forth born Morag Gray - a tireless campaigner for Scottish horse racing -has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's 2005. New Year Honours List. Who made history in 1987 when she became the first-ever female Clerk of the Course at Ayr Racecourse.
Morag was the Gala Queen in 1974. She used to have family days out at Hamilton Park and also Lanark Racecourse before it shut in 1978.

Morag has been named as one of independent directors of the new British Horse racing Authority, which is set to launch as British Racing's new regulatory body in 2007.


The Little Haven .

Situated in a converted council house at 15 Manse Road is The Little Haven.

A new cancer and general illness treatment centre that caters for those suffering from life threatening illness. It is a place of comfort, care and companionship. All the therapists are fully trained as are the volunteers.

Various therapies are offered including Reiki, Indian Head Massage and Reflexoligy amongst others.
